Tips and Tricks to get the very best vacation home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is a great way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Finding the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. $150 activities - E-gift card when you book - Southern Ocean View with Gorgeous Sunsets
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. If not, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
- Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
