Myrtle Beach rental home tips:
Finding your best deal:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Kingston Plantation - 2 BR - Ground Floor, Lake View has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
During your stay:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- Upon check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
