How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Get the best value:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and choose the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Amazing View! Oceanfront 3 Bed\/2 Bath (7th Floor) - by Luxury Beach Rentals has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before you book your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- During check-in, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
