Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Get the best rental home value:
- To get the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Select vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Amazing Views - Ocean Front 3BR Condo! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Speak to the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
