Finding the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring months is a great way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to pick the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Hilton Grand Vacations Club at Anderson Ocean Club has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
During your stay:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Call the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
