Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Finding your perfect rental:
- The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- To get the largest vacation home within budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a budget.
- Myrtle Beach
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More considerations:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
