Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Find your perfect rental home:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Some owners offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Filter your rental search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Be right in the middle of all the action in B Building Unit 227 ! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
