Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- To book the best rental for your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- First and foremost, have your group decide on the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Beach Bum: Oceanfront Suite With Views 8th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
