Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- First and foremost, have your group choose trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Winter Rates! Gorgeous 1BR Oceanview Suite\/Dogs OK has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Advice for a great stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of concerns.
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- During check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
