Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the most suitable rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to choose and book yourvacation home:
- Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Beach Condo, Gated Yard, Park 2 Cars, Walk to Beach, Pool @ Gulf Stream Cottages has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before reserving your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. message the property manager right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
