Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and choosing the rightrental home:
- First and foremost, have your group agree to vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Coastal Escape: 2BR King Suite @ Wyndham Seawatch has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- During check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to drive more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
