Tips for getting the best vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain coupons for local tours and attractions.
Selecting and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Beach house, private pool Oasis has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If they are not listed, email the host before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
Some things to know before you go:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
