Myrtle Beach vacation rental tips:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and picking the bestvacation home:
- Choose vacation week and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. New Coastal Home Steps from Beach w\/Pool has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is optimal for your family.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
