Strategies to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best value:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Book your Myrtle Beach rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to choose and book a perfectrental:
- First and foremost, have your family choose the best dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Beach Life Oceanfront Efficiency T109 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Have a great stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
