Our top Rental home booking tips and tricks:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring is a great way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
How to select the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose your dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beach side Condo Retreat in the Heart of Myrtle Beach! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Record any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
