Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
- Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Ocean Dunes Villas #17, short walk to the beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what is optimal for your group.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
