Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Get the most from your spending budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.
How to choose and book the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select your vacation dates and budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. River Oaks Unit 18H S has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving the property. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
