Tips to get the best vacation property experience:
Getting the best rental home value:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- To start, have your group agree to trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. River Oaks Unit 18H S has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what is right for your family.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your agreement.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your home life. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
