Tips and Tricks to get the best rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Choose dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean View Luxury Condo in Royale Palms, Kingston Plantation, Myrtle Beach SC has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

Tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. message the rental manager right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
