How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the perfect vacation home:
- Start by having your family choose trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Beachfront Beauty: Two-Bedroom Double Suites has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your trip.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many issues.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
