Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:

  • Booking a rental in Fall or Spring is a good way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and choose the perfect Myrtle Beach rental:

  • Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Spacious Ocean View Suite With Beautiful Updates! - Ocean Dunes Tower 2 Unit 6121 - Sleeps 6 Guests! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, email the host before booking the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.

More considerations:

  • Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental.
  • Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
