Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, shift your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Start by having your group choose a vacation week and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Spacious Ocean View Suite With Beautiful Updates! - Ocean Dunes Tower 2 Unit 6121 - Sleeps 6 Guests! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few issues.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
