Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have coupons for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Start by choosing your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. A Wave From It All-Gorgeous oceanfront 2 bedroom, 2 bath Penthouse, 3 fireplaces has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
