Booking the best rental home experience:
Sticking to a budget:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Book your Myrtle Beach rental home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Start by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. A Wave From It All-Gorgeous oceanfront 2 bedroom, 2 bath Penthouse, 3 fireplaces has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation.
- If your group is traveling with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
More tips for your visit:
- Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Note any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
