Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- Book your Myrtle Beach rental in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers typically offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Choose dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. T704 at the Myrtle Beach Resort
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available on booking websites. If not, email the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Contact the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
