Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Reserve your rental home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Narrow your Search:
- Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Magnificent Caravelle Resort Ocean View Suite - Double Bed has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If not, call the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges applied to your agreement.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
Considerations for your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the host immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
