Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local shops and restaurants.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- To start, have your family commit to vacation dates and a budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Magnificent Caravelle Resort Ocean View Suite - Double Bed has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If not, email the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- On check-out day, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to drive future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
