Strategies for getting the best vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the best vacation rental:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Beachside Haven: Double Suites with Ocean Views has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If not, reach out to the host before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you simply love, search for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many concerns.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure no damages are linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
