Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking your prefectrental home:
- First and foremost, have your family decide on date ranges and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Coastal Bliss Awaits OV One Bedroom Condo 6th Flr has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before you book the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
