How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
How to pick the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by having your family decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Carolina Grande Resort - 1BR Suite w\/ Balcony has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
During your stay:
- Add the host's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Document any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
