Booking the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- To book the best rental home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Myrtle Beach attractions.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing the best vacation rental:
- To start, have your group decide on vacation dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Seas The Day at Shipwatch Pointe I has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. Otherwise, contact the host before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is best for your trip.
- Does your group require specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
Know before you go:
- Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
