Tricks and tips to get the optimal vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the best value, change your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Seas The Day at Shipwatch Pointe I has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. If not, call the property management company before reserving the rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
Tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
