How to find the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- To start, have your family choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Nautical beauty, steps from the beach with full access to resort amenities!! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. Otherwise, email the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what configuration is suitable for your group.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
Have a fantastic stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
- At Check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
