Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
Get the most from your rental home budget:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the most suitable rental for your budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property managers often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Planning and picking the rightrental:
- Start by having your group agree to trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. BEAUTIFUL & WELL APPOINTED-THIS OCEANFRONT 3BD\/2BA CONDO IS WAITING FOR YOU! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or could be applied to your invoice.
- Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Additional considerations:
- Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out and about. Protect your property!
- During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
