Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Sticking to your budget:
- Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To book the best rental home within your budget, we suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Myrtle Beach restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose the perfect vacation rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. NOW BOOKING FOR 2025\n4 minutes to beach\n1 minute to pool\n3BR 2BA W\/Golfcart has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before booking the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Does your family require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good reviews to propel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
