Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Cost saving strategies:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Some property management companies offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. NOW BOOKING FOR 2025\n4 minutes to beach\n1 minute to pool\n3BR 2BA W\/Golfcart has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for your stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
