Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips:
Get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Spring or Fall is a great way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Choosing and booking the best Myrtle Beach rental:
- Begin by selecting the best vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Beautiful 3 Bedroom Condo in Myrtlewood Villas has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before you book the home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
During your stay:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
