Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To find the best value, consider shifting your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Start by having your group commit to the best dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Large Family Friendly Condo- Beautiful Views of the Pool, Courtyard and Ocean has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. text the property manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
