How to find the best vacation home experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- To get the largest rental within budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guide magazines contain deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Choosing the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Beautiful Ocean Lakes Beach Home......100 Yards to the Beach. has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More tips for your visit:
- Store the host's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your vacation home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- During arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
