Tips to get the optimal vacation rental experience:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, consider shifting your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Make a plan and pick your Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Direct Oceanfront King Suite with breathtaking ocean views has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before you reserve your home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of difficulties.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
