Our top Rental booking tips and tricks:
Money saving strategies:
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides contain deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing the best vacation home in Myrtle Beach:
- Select vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Direct Oceanfront King Suite with breathtaking ocean views has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property owner before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
Tips for a wonderful stay:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon arrival, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Keep the property locked while you're out! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a great stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
