Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • To find the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing and booking the right Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • Start by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Beautiful Oceanfront, Full Kitchen, Pet Friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
