How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
- Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, shift your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property management companies typically offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group leader, select your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Beautiful Oceanfront, Full Kitchen, Pet Friendly has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before you reserve the property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs applied to your agreement.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
More considerations:
- We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
