Tricks and tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- To get the largest rental within budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. BEAUTIFUL RUSTIC BEACH HOME WITH A GORGEOUS SUN ROOM OVERLOOKING THE CANAL has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, search for a pet-friendly rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach beach you love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
During your stay:
- Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
