Tips to get the best vacation property experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental:
- Choose a group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Totes Adorbs - clean 2 bedroom has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is right for your vacation.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your agreement.
Have a fantastic stay:
- Get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Re-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a wonderful vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
