Our top Vacation rental home tips:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides have deals for nearby tours and attractions.
How to choose the best rental home:
- First, have your family choose the best dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Beautiful 2 Bedroom Condo in Ocean Creek Resort has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you are enamored with, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
Know before you go:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
