Tips to get the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. WOW Awesome Corner Wrap Around Balcony Condo Fireplace has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or might be applied to your agreement.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local attractions.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
