Tips to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a rental home:
- Booking in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
- Property management companies often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Filter your search:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Best LOCATION in OCEAN LAKES!!! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. Otherwise, email the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or applied to your agreement.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
