Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides contain discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
How to select the perfect rental in Myrtle Beach:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Beach House in the Heart of MB (4\/4) has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your trip.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
Tips to have a smooth stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- Make a record of any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
- Just before checking out, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
