Tips and Tricks for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- Book your vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.
How to pick the perfect vacation home:
- Start by selecting the best vacation week and a spending budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Salty Vibes 2 story, 4 bedroom, 3 bath house on corner lot has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
- Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
Additional considerations:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
