Our top Myrtle Beach rental property booking tips and tricks:

Find your best deal:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, try changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Narrow your Search:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. Enchanting Seaside Oceanfront Suite 9th Floor has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If not, email or call the property management company before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is best for your group.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

Tips for a wonderful stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Upon check-in, record any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to propel more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
