Tricks and tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer months are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to choose the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your group choose the best dates and a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Beyond Blessed Beach Condo Sleeps up to 10! Quick 2 block walk to the OCEAN! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- To make sure no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. text the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a great resource to find the best local beaches.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
