Finding the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
When to book & When to go:
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the perfect rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose your vacation week and maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Brighton 305 @ Kingston Plantation - Oceanfront 3BD\/2BA has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your group.
- If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly rental. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
Additional considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
