How to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and choose the best Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- First and foremost, have your family agree to the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Coastal Escape: 2BR King Suite @ Wyndham Seawatch has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- During arrival, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
