How to find the best vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. BLUE PEARL ocean front condo has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what is best for your vacation family.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the host's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
  • Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
