Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the most suitable rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Myrtle Beach attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your rental search:
- Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Remodeled Condo, Waterpark View at Landmark Resort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to locate nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
More tips for your stay:
- We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few concerns.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
- At Check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
