Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Get the most from your rental budget:
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
- Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning, picking, and booking a perfectvacation home:
- Choose your vacation dates and maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Remodeled Condo, Waterpark View at Landmark Resort has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before reserving your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is right for your group.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you long to visit, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Considerations for your stay:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, note any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a excellent vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
