Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation rental experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to choose and book your Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- First, have your group commit to dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sun-Drenched Oceanfront Corner 2BD\/2BA condo w\/Panoramic Views. Prime location. has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the host before reserving your home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
