Our top Rental home booking tips:
When to go & When to reserve a rental home:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
- Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Finding the best vacation rental:
- Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Sunset Luxe, 1606 Brighton - full access to amenities! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available online. Otherwise, call the host before you book your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
More considerations:
- Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of issues.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during check in. Call the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
